New Format for the Group trail run!
Thursday trail run group sessions have been a Hungry Runner favorite for a few years! So far, the runs have been organized around the format of a "Strava segment chase", so much fun! However, it is time to make some changes and keep you all excited!
As you know Hungry Runner is all about bringing fun into your running as well as making each session a source of progression. Trail running demands different skills and it is worth working on these skills independently. Therefore, from next week onwards, each Thursday trail run will focus on a specific skill: uphills, downhills, rolling hills and uphill strength. That way the group sessions will help you improve as a trail runner and leave no stone unturned.
Lastly, to make sure you stay Hungry for results, every last Thursday of the month we will test ourselves on a course that includes 3 segments. These segments replicate the trail running skills we have worked on throughout the month. This “testing” session will remain the same so you can compare your results over time.
Thursday sessions will now follow a monthly rotation:
If we have 4 Thursdays in the month:
- 1st Thursday of the week: Uphill training
- 2nd Thursday of the week: Downhill training
- 3rd Thursday of the week: Rolling hills
- 4th Thursday of the week: Testing
If we have 5 Thursdays in the month:
- 1st Thursday of the week: Uphill training
- 2nd Thursday of the week: Downhill training
- 3rd Thursday of the week: Rolling hills
- 4th Thursday of the week: Uphill Strength training (mix of strength and hills!)
- 5th Thursday of the week: Testing
