Race update: Cross, trail and road!
With a lot of stress we were waiting for Agathe to compete and hopefully get qualified for the Cross Country French Championship. Mission accomplished, she finished 4th, in a sprint finish! She is only one and two seconds behind the second and third, it was tough and close!
Before the race Agathe was not at her best, in fact on monday the doctor said she ran with the flu!
Result: 6.5km in 25min47 ranking 4th
On my side I had a rough day on the trail of Bormes les Mimosas (30km, 1600m elevation gain), sick all week I decided to take the start anyway. After a kilometer I was exhausted and decided to take it easy. 15km into the race I was ranked 95th, but as the kilometers went (and the rain getting fierce) I felt better and managed to accelerate. I finished 41st, glad to have reached the finish line with good sensations!
In the last update I forgot to mention three of you that ran the Townsville Australia day fun run.
4.5km on Townsville strand
Marty finished in 21min13 ranking 77 overall 45 in age group. A great come back after a few months without racing.
Kate finished in 22min39, ranking 109 overall, 13th of age group. She ran at close to the same pace then her previous 3km speed test. Congratulations!
Jill Finished in 28min18, ranking 340 overall 99 in age group. A good run after with a painful hamstring!
