2024 Townsville running festival
**Townsville Running Festival Recap: A Day of Outstanding Performances!**
This Sunday, many of us took part in the Townsville Running Festival, and it turned out to be a fantastic day of racing. Here’s a recap of the achievements:
**10km Results:**
– **Clint** finished with an impressive time of 34:14.
– **Paula** ran a very consistent race, crossing the finish line at 01:08:06.
**Half Marathon:**
– **Toby (U18)** paced his run to perfection, clocking in at 01:28:35!
– **Vanessa** finished 3rd overall with a time of 01:33:27. Congratulations!
– **Pete** won his age group with a brilliant run of 01:35:17, just like his son Angus (U18)!
– **Erin** managed a beautifully paced run, winning her age group and finishing in 01:36:49.
– **Hailey** overcame some niggles during preparation to finish strong at 01:38:24. Great run!
– **David** had a great race, finishing in 01:41:50 with the last 5km at a pace of 04:35/km and an overall pace of 04:42/km. Preparation for the Sydney Marathon is paying off!
– **Lorne** kept it together despite an ambitious start, finishing in 01:43:32. Solid run!
– **Mitch** ran a solid 01:52:03 just weeks after the GC Marathon. Well done!
– **Andrew** managed a great run, finishing in 01:57:18. Well done!
– **Maja** ran a very steady paced race toward a 01:58:12 finish time.
– **Naph** finished in 02:04:33 congrats on this great run, the last kms were tough, you got the job done!
– **Liz** finished in 02:43:53 and was without doubt the happiest looking runner out there!
**Marathon:**
– **Saskia** and **Carmen** finished 2nd and 3rd overall with amazing times of 3:13:40 and 3:21:03.
– While experiencing a tough finish, **Becky** managed an amazing 03:58:34. You have improved so much over the last months!!
**Special Mentions:**
– **Anthony** was a “Run Angel” at Pallarenda, volunteering to help and motivate runners to the finish line. He ran an impressive 27.7km! That’s definitely worth a mention!
– **Liz** for pacing the 5hr marathon group! You nailed the task!
– **Ella** couldn’t make it to the Run Fest 5km, so she decided to run a parkrun instead and got a PB with a time of 00:25:08. Nice run!
